Today we travel with Ed to the country of Wale and meet the great General Adam Coleman.
THE GOD GAMES: Legend of Kor...Chapter Six
We sat around the table and watched Tom's face as he finished his story about Wills and the concentration camps. We all felt his deep pain and we all asked ONE to guide us to find an answer to Gog's "final solution."
It was Ed who spoke next. His eyes filled with tears, and his voice had a slight tremor, as he began his story.
ED:
As soon as I came around the mountains, I saw a beautiful panorama of rolling fields and valleys, covered with a wide assortment of crops. Three rivers boxed in this fertile prairie and I turned to the right, or the South, to travel to the Walean Capital of Ento. It was the only large city in Wale. In the countryside there were many villages but they were relatively small; maybe 1000 to 5000 people in each village. Then there were the thousands of Wale families who lived on their farms all over Wale.
I knew that Adam would be found at army headquarters on the outskirts of Ento. I sat down on a rock by the Specto River, which was one of the borders of Ento, and ate a lovely lunch of figs and pumpernickle bread, and washed it down with apple cider. It was so idyllically beautiful that it was hard to realize the tragedy that was also occurring all around me.
I asked ONE to lead me to Adam and give me words to say to help him. I then thought myself into Ento and turned off my invisibility. The city buzzed with activity and on every corner there were Walean soldiers armed with revolvers, shotguns, and rifles. There were very few cars, but a lot of tractors, and still many lizard-drawn carts.
As I walked down the street, I was suddenly accosted by an Ento policeman who demanded to know where I had come from and my purpose in town. I smiled at him and told him that I had come from a small village near Lake Como and that I had come to town to enlist in the Walean army. The officer changed tones very quickly, smiled broadly, and shook my hand.
"Sorry, young man. We're just so cautious right now, if we don't recognize someone, I'm afraid we're kind of hard on them at first!"
"I understand totally. We're losing people all over the land. I want to do my part to stop Gog."
"Well, that is admirable. Would you like a ride to the armory?"
"Sure, that would be great!"
The policeman drove a jeep-like vehicle and took me straight to the armory. There, he took me inside and nodded to a Sergeant who was sitting at a desk by the door.
"Is General Coleman in, son?"
"Yes sir! I'll tell him you're here."
A few moments later the Sergeant came back and motioned for them to follow him. They walked down the short hallway and the Sergeant knocked on a door, opened it, and announced that the policeman and I were here. He then motioned us into a large office and there, behind his desk, sat Adam; a huge man, with serious eyes and a broad smile.
"Come in, come in," said Adam. "Welcome to the Wale Army Headquarters. How may I help you?"
"This young man appeared in Ento and we accosted him, as he is unfamiliar to us, but he was simply here to join your Army. So I brought him around so he wouldn't get lost," said the policeman.
"Well, thank you for bringing him out here. I can take it from here," said Adam.
The policeman left and Adam came around his desk to shake my hand. He had a strong handshake and eyes that bored right into you.
"Well, son, you look a little old to be signing up for the military. Is there something you'd like to tell me? My name is General Adam Coleman and I head the Walean Army."
"Sir, my name is Ed Nelson. I am an energynaut sent by God in answer to your prayers. I know you believe in one God, so do I. That one God has sent me from our ancient home in heaven, with three of my friends, to come to Kor and help you with your war with the Selves."
"Excuse me, how can you possibly help me? Do you have extra weapons or an army of men for me?"
"I have only one gun, my ray gun here, and God sent only the four of us, but I can tell you that God has sent us to help join all three countries-Wale, Emon, and Voun-and the Selve Resistance Movement (SRM), together, so you can face Gog from a stronger, better-united front."
Tomorrow Ed and Adam talk business and come to an understanding between them.
