INTO SPACE FOR ONE LAST TIME

The energynauts and their Korian friends make a last trip on the space ship.

THE GOD GAMES: Legend of Kor...Chapter Twenty Three

"Each and every one of you are the winners," said Glenna. "You each have special skills that were needed to move the process along. Each of you are strong willed and never give up on what you have willed to do. I placed my life in your hands and never gave it a thought; we have developed total trust between us.

"I love you Miriam, and I love each one of you. May ONE bless each of you and all of Kor."

I looked around the group and caught a special smile passing between Bond and Lucy. I wondered in my heart if there was more than friendship between them.

"ONE asked the four of us to come to Kor and find a way to help all of you get rid of Gog and free the prisoners from the camps. However, he gave us very few instructions on how to do it. He told us to listen to the prayers of all Korians and find out where the people's hearts are. Then he asked us to seek out you four leaders; Wills, Lucy, Adam, and Miriam, and give you the aid you need to defeat Gog. We were not to interfere with your decisions, or make your decisions for you, and we were not to do what you can do for yourselves.

"We were a little worried about how to go about things, but after we had met you, everything fell into place and you set goals and ran with them.

"Together, united, we fought back and won. Congratulations for giving everything for Kor's future. We love you all very much," I concluded.

We all sat still for a moment, dabbing at our eyes. It was a painful rejoicing.

"Well, Glenna and Ann, shall we feed our friends now? Then, after we eat and relax for a moment, we will take a ride in the ship and cruise over the four countries to see any changes that have occurred; then we will fly to Lumena and admire the beauty of Kor from a distance. Before we leave for home, we will all sit down again to say our closing remarks. Then we will return you to your homes," said Ed.

Glenna and I spread the food out on the table and we served buffet style. Everyone had third helpings and we decided to have dessert when we came back from our trip.

We cleared off the table and battened everything down, then everyone put on seat belts and harnesses, and we lifted off of our base, put the invisibility on, and hovered over Emon. There we saw the desert and the plains at peace; no armies from Gog, and soldiers seen only at the roads at Emon's borders. The University shined and sparkled in the light of Veral.

We flew over the fields of Wale and noticed that most of the fields had been harvested, and over Lake Como we saw people actually taking vacations; soaking up Veral's rays. We saw that there were still soldiers at all of the checkpoints, and imagined that the Wales may never totally let down their guard.

Plange Bay sparkled in the afternoon light and the Salt Castle looked like a large diamond. All was peaceful in Voun, and only her border roads were guarded.

We hovered over the Vorask Forest and Wills spotted his cabin. All seemed well and untouched. The streets of Selve were quiet, with only the usual business traffic and no soldiers at all could be seen. They saw families playing in the parks and fuseball being played on vacant lots around Mano.

Ed put the ship in hover mode and turned around in his "driver's seat" and asked if everyone had seen what they wanted to see on Kor. If they had, they would travel on to Lumena. Bond asked if he could talk with him a minute, and Ed had him unbuckle and come over to him. Bond whispered in his ear that, when they reached Lumena, could he put the ship in hover mode, like this, for a few minutes. He said that he had a special announcement to make. Ed told him, yes, that would be fine. Bond buckled up again and they were off for Lumena.

They had forgotten just how beautiful Kor looked from Lumena. They all sat and admired the view and Ed put the ship on "hover."

Bond unbuckled all of his harnesses and everyone watched him wondering what he was up to.

Bond kneeled down in front of Lucy, and looked at her with love written all over his face. He pulled a little velvet box out of his pant's pocket and opened the lid. He handed the little box to Lucy. Inside, was a tiny golden oak tree on a fine golden chain.

"Lucy, I love you with all of my heart. Will you marry me and be my wife?"

Lucy looked into Bond's eyes and was still a moment. A mixed marriage was not often seen in Kor, but she loved Bond. He was a good man, and remarkable in so many ways. They would be able to overcome any obstacles.

"I love you Bond, and I would be proud to be your wife. My answer is 'yes.'"

Bond placed the necklace around Lucy's neck and kissed her in front of everyone.

Whistles and shrieks of joy filled the ship. Everyone clapped and Adam unbuckled, unclasped, and went over and lifted Bond into the air.

"Little brother, such a surprise. Ha! Ha! Well, we must have a small libation to celebrate. imagine, two weddings out of our little group of 15-and two of the 15 are children!"

Tomorrow several other members of the group have special events coming up.
