PREPARING THE SHIP FOR A PARTY

The energynauts clean and prepare the space ship for a big party.

THE GOD GAMES: Legend of Kor...Chapter Twenty Two

It felt so wonderful to be back home; our own little kitchen, our own beds. Ah. heaven! We all sat down in the dining nook and looked around at the familiar place.

"I do believe we have accomplished what we set out to do. We have, however, had one major loss, of 1/4th of our team, which breaks all of our hearts and is an awfully high price to pay for going through this experience.

"Did we win? What do you think Glenna, you have paid the highest price."

"The pain of separation from Tom takes my very breath away. I feel like half a person without Tom. I don't know, some days I just feel lost.

"Did we finish what we came here to do? Yes. I believe we have accomplished our mission, but it was a very heavy price that we paid."

"I understand Glenna. Let's be thinking about our wins and losses, and discuss this again, later this evening.

"As for now, we have a week to get our ship clean and prepared for our big party. I want it to be really special for our guests so that they have some moments to treasure over the years.

"Let us work as a team. First, we will clean and shine the outside of the ship and then we will work on the inside. I need to check on the fluid levels of the ship also."

"Those sound like great ideas to me," said Ann. "Glenna and I will plan a special meal and lots of special desserts, and once the ship is finished, we will cook it all and freeze it so we don't have to be rushed next Sunday and Monday."

The trio worked on the outside of the ship. I checked all of the fluid levels and the anti-matter and matter containers. I then tried out the anti-gravity thrusters, the anti-matter rockets, and the particle beam weapons. Everything was in perfect shape.

The ladies scrubbed and polished every inch of the outside of the ship and it shone in the light of Veral, and radiated multi-colored waves.

We all took a break and had a light lunch, then we began cleaning the inside of the ship. I checked out all of the components of the operating controls, and tried out all of the switches and knobs that created the atmosphere inside the ship. Everything worked smoothly and I was very satisfied.

The women cleaned their bedrooms and the kitchen, and wiped down the walls and furniture in the rest of the ship. Then, finally, they polished and shined all of the crystal windows on the floor, ceiling, and sides of the ship.

Exhausted, we sunk into the dining nook and rested. We decided that we had done enough work for the day. Tomorrow was soon enough to do the cooking. For the rest of the day we played canasta and rested.

On Wednesday morning, Glenna and Ann began to work on a fabulous dinner for the party. They took opalescent fish, stuffed them with seasoned dressing, and poached them very slowly. Four fresh vegetables were washed and prepared for cooking on the morning of the party. Ann made a huge noodle casserole, and Glenna fixed fresh lemonade and froze it. The ladies then baked cakes, pies, cookies, and candy and even made gingerbread Korians for Trev and Julie.

After cooking all day, the ladies froze what they had created and then we all sat in the dining nook and discussed again, whether we had succeeded with our mission.

Other than the great loss of Tom, we felt that we had attained all of our goals: Gog had been deposed; the camps had been shut down, and all of the inmates returned to their homes; a new Democracy was flourishing in Selve; restitution was being given to the ex-inmates of the internment and labor camps; and friendship between the leaders of all four countries had developed deeply and there was now open communication between all four governments.

After making our goal assessments, we looked at each other and realized we had no more work to do for a while. We could totally relax; catch up on reading; and write our personal accounts of the last four months of our mission, for Albert, when we returned to Heaven.

The rest of the week went by very quickly, and soon it was Sunday night.

Tomorrow the energynauts plan the party, discuss their ability to come back to Kor again, and prepare to pick up their friends and bring them back to the ship.
