Ann and Ed prepare to go to the Council of Elders. Ann is filled with worry at what she will hear there.
THE GOD GAMES: Heaven & Hell...Chapter Forty Two
We sat in our quiet place for some time, just enjoying the songs of the birds and flowers. A soft breeze blew and a bee buzzed around our heads making our eyelids begin to droop with sleep. It had been a long day with a lot of positive stress, ending with the knowledge that I had won my life game and now Heaven was indeed my home.
I moved my head to look into Ed's eyes and they were filled with love and happiness. Ed had won his life game also. I felt so fortunate to be a part of this with him now as he was a very great man with a powerful mind, and together we could bring happiness and love to all who we encountered.
As the stars began to shine in the sky, Ed suggested that we return to our homes and rest up for the following day and our meeting with the Council of Elders. He walked me home and then returned to his own home with the promise to see me early the next morning.
Heavenly father and mother made me comfortable and were full of congratulations for the victory of my life game. They fixed me up with a warm dinner and sent me to bed with love.
I awoke to a mockingbird's trill and the sunshine dancing on my windowsill. What a beautiful morning it was! I quickly dressed in comfortable clothes and went out into the kitchen to greet mother. She immediately sat me down at the table and brought me a tall stack of pancakes smothered in blueberries and a glass of orange juice. I took my leisurely time eating and cleaned up the table for mother.
Mother told me to enjoy my day at the Council of Elders and not to worry about anything at all as this was just an informal session that will show me what choices that I have to make next. As she was talking to me, there was a knock on the door and Ed stuck his head around the screen. Mother let him in with laughter and sat him down to a stack of blueberry pancakes and a glass of orange juice. Ed thanked mother for her hospitality and she said for him to just quit worrying about such things.
"Well," said Ed, "are you ready for a beautiful trip and an interesting talk with the Council of Elders?"
"I sure am," I said. "Where exactly are we going to?"
"The crystal dome house in the Andrian Mountains, to be exact," said Ed. "We are going to walk for a part of the way because the scenery is so gorgeous and the path to the house is always kept clear for hikers. I think that you will really like the trip, and it won't take too long to get to the house because if you tire we will just think our way the rest of the way."
I put on hiking shoes and rummaged in father's garage for a tall walking stick. The one I chose had some heft to it and really suited my pace of walking. When I was all ready, I went into the kitchen and saw that Ed had finished eating and was talking to mother. I told Ed that I was all ready to go and we both thanked her for all she had done for us.
"Listen children," mother said, "you don't need to be so formal with me. You are my children and my friends and we do what we do out of love and a desire to be of service. Now you guys get out of here and best of good wishes with your meeting. I will see you both this evening. Take care."
With that said, we began our journey to the Andrian Mountains, Ed told me that first we were going to just think ourselves to the foot path that led up into the mountains. He took my hand and in an instant we were on the hiking path into the mountains. The path was very curvy and also pretty steep, so we walked slowly, pacing our steps, and it was not too bad at all. All around us the mountains rose steeply and proudly. There were almost sheer drops from the tops of the mountains down to the valley floor but we did see mountain sheep holding precariously onto the sides of one of the mountains. After we had hiked for about five miles, we turned a corner and saw a waterfall tumbling down from the top of one of the highest mountains. We guessed that the waterfall was about a mile high, but it was probably more like 4,000 feet than a mile. I asked Ed how much further we had to go, and he pointed to the top of a very high mountain and I could see a rainbow reflected from the top of a domed glass building. It looked to me as if it were a very long way away, so I told Ed that I thought we had better think our way to the house very soon, in order to get there at a reasonable time of day. We held hands and thought our way to the domed house. Tomorrow Ann and Ed are welcomed to the Council of Elders and are taught the way that Heaven works. me
