Today we pick up where we left off. Molly has been captured by Wills Haddon and his SRM (Selve Resistance Movement) and he is forcing her and the children to go on a forced walk to his headquarters. He questions her as they walk...
THE GOD GAMES: Legend of KOR...Chapter Eight
"Why do you hate Gog so much?" (Wills asks Molly)
"I know many Waleans and they are very good and very spiritual people. Gog is crazy to try and eliminate all of them; why, they do so much for Kor that we would all suffer if we lost them to genocide. I hear rumors that they are starved, or shot to death, and then their bodies are burned in two huge crematoriums. I've also heard that Voun and Emon have lost thousands of people to slave work in the gold mines, and that they are shot for the slightest infractions and buried in mass graves. Do you know if this is true, or not?"
"Molly, things are that bad and worse. We are losing hundreds of Wale lives every day and almost as many Emons and Vouns. Now, Gog is building a rush-order third crematorium to be able to handle all of the dead bodies. The dead Wales are stacked like lumber, or thrown on huge piles to await cremation. We need to take those concentration camps and destroy them and free the people. But first, we must join forces with the other three resistance movements; the Emons, the Vouns, and the Walean Army. Are you thinking of helping us with the work?"
"Yes, I want to be part of destroying Gog and freeing all of these poor people. Could I really stay and help you out?"
"We have the need of a cook, and we have room for yourself and the children to sleep. I think that you would work in very nicely, and Mary, your lizard, and your cart, could be put to very good use."
"Oh, thank you so much for taking us in, we will give you our best."
"Do you know how to use weapons?"
"My father taught me to use a gun when I was a little girl, and sometimes we would hunt for goslings and their parents. The big geese tastes delicious, and we used the goslings to start our own self-sufficient meat supply."
"Well, I'll have you train with the men and sharpen up your eye on our targets. I'll also start Trev learning about guns. He seems like a fine young man, very teachable."
Suddenly they came upon a small clearing with a wooden cabin on it.
"Here we are Molly, let me show you and the children where you'll be sleeping. It is sort of a storage room, with cots set up for visitors."
The day and evening went fast, and Molly fixed the meals for the men. Trev and Julie were overjoyed to see their favorite foods again.
When they were in bed that night, Trev asked his mother, "Tell me the truth mother, why are we here? Where is Aunt Suzie?"
"Son, I did mislead you. I was afraid you might follow your father and support Gog. I wanted us to find a way to help out the Walean people. I want to save their lives and rescue the captured Vouns and Emons."
"Dad is going to be angry and crazy when he finds you did not go to Aunt Suzie's. He will send out an order for the Selve Army to find us and kill us."
"I think we'll be safe here, but do you want to go back to your father?"
"Oh no, I hate Gog! People are insane to yell Gog! Gog! Gog! at him all the time. He is a real slime ball, Mom; I've been listening. I am glad that you decided to take a stand. I'll be here for you."
Julie lay listening to their voices. When her mother asked her how she felt about things she said she believed her mother and wanted to help her out in any way she could. Julie lay in the deep straw mattress covered with quilts and snuggled-in tightly. She was glad that they finally had enough to eat, and she was so glad that she had brought her toy bunny rabbit with her. She was asleep five minutes later.
The next day Molly spent two hours practicing her aim and follow through. Wills took Trev and had him take guns apart and then reassemble them. After an hour he taught Trev to clean a gun after use and put it away properly. Trev and Wills really liked each other.
Molly, Trev, and Julie began to feel right at home, and Molly was so glad to be working against Gog. Every morning, after breakfast, Molly taught Julie to read and write. Wills took Trev under his wing, and taught him math and how much math was used in the running of an army.
Time went by and there was no word from Rave pursuing them. That was because Rave was having a great time all alone. He was so glad that he didn't have to listen to Molly and her anti-Gog sentiments and he was glad he didn't have to worry about feeding anyone but himself anymore. He occupied his free time by enlisting in Gog's Rangers and patrolling the borders of Mano. He never spoke about his family to anyone. He had a good friend, Carol, and they were on the same wave length. As far as he cared, Molly and the children could stay lost.
Tomorrow the four energynauts discuss what their next steps should be, and how to best help Kor.
