Tom & Ed take their charges back to the space ship & Glenna finishes her road trip with Miriam.

THE GOD GAMES: Legend of Kor...Chapter Seventeen

TOM:

Sunday morning at 6:30, we all gathered on the parade ground ready to take our trip to the ship.

Ed took Adam, Lieutenant Stars, and Bond Boyd, and I had Wills, Molly, Julie, and Trev. We all said a short prayer, pressed our invisibility buttons, and thought our way to the ship where Lucy, Ann, and Alice were waiting.

GLENNA:

About 4:00 p.m. on Monday, I made my appearance at the Supreme Court Building and Miriam answered her office door with a big smile.

"Come on in Glenna. Have a seat and make yourself comfortable. I have one more court appearance today and then I'll be free to go on the road again.

While she was in court, I sat in Miriam's office and poured over topographical maps of Kor. It was a very diverse land.

When Miriam was finished in court, she came back to her office and made a few phone calls, then we walked to her home.

Mr. and Mrs. Stevens, Miriam's butler and maid, had fixed a superb dinner of salmon, baked potatoes, corn, and lemon meringue pie. We ate as if we were starved.

After dinner, we listened to the radio and caught a speech by Gog. He was bragging that Selve had a larger army and more power than Voun, Emon, and Wale put together.

Gog reminded his people that the price of not serving in the army was to be hanged and he assured them that they would soon have an overflow of food, just trust in his power. Miriam switched channels to a classical music station and we began to relax.

The next days were spent on the road between the Marbis and Mondel Rivers. We were able to sign up 900 soldiers and 60 officers. The recruiters in Piers were having even better luck, altogether we had recruited a total of 3,500 soldiers and 200 officers.

One day, as we were driving, we came upon the bridge that had to be closed because of damage. We took the opportunity to find the best alternative route for General Patrick.

We saw a convoy of trucks carrying food and supplies to General Drang and General Wells. Miriam was now very happy, as she had been worried about having enough food to feed 5,000 soldiers.

General Drang and General Wells had very successfully marched the soldiers in their care to the ocean borders of Voun. As new men signed up they were sent to their officers in Piers, who would then have them driven to join either General Drang or General Wells.

On Wednesday, Miriam heard the word that the weapons for Lucy's troops had been finished and were ready for delivery. Miriam ordered a large truck with 10 soldiers to take the guns to Delta, ASAP.

On Thursday, we saw a large convoy of trucks from General Coleman that held fresh fruits, vegetables, and grains. We stopped the convoy and asked if this were a one-time shipment, or if there would be more food coming? The head driver, a staff sergeant, explained that General Coleman would be supplementing our food supplies for the duration of the war. Miriam was overwhelmed by General Coleman's generosity.

Finally, on Saturday afternoon, we drove back to Piers and began to prepare to return to the ship in the morning.

Miriam called for General Patrick, and he filled her in on where all the troops were stationed. He explained that all but 500 soldiers had been sent to the front and were being trained as they set up camp, practiced at the firing range, and learned how to drill properly. He felt very confident that his soldiers would all perform to the best of their abilities because they burned to destroy Gog, and rescue their missing family members.

We slept well that night and woke up at 5:30 a.m. to prepare to go back to the ship.

Miriam went through all of her notes to make sure that she could accurately explain where her soldiers were and all that was going on in Voun. She felt a great deal of confidence in General Patrick and she knew that he was on top of protecting and defending Voun.

At 6:30 a.m., General Patrick knocked on Miriam's front door. He was very excited about seeing the ship again, and could hardly wait until we took another flight.

At 6:59 a.m., we said a short prayer, held hands, I pressed the invisibility button, and then thought us back to the ship. We were the last arrival, and everyone was very excited to see us.
