ON A QUEST TO KILL GOG

Tom, Ed, Adam, and Wills travel to Gog's Palace to kill Gog.

THE GOD GAMES: Legend of Kor...Chapter Ninteen

About 6:00 p.m., Sunday night, Adam, Wills, Tom, and Ed got together in a circle, held hands, turned on the invisibility, and Tom thought them back to the ship. They were very anxious to get to the ship and begin their operation. They did not realize how the hours would drag by until 3:00 a.m., came around.

Ed thought it might pass the hours more quickly if they took the ship on a short spin around the battle fronts to see how things were going.  Tom and Ed prepared the ship for take-off; they all strapped themselves into seat belts and harnesses, and then they were off over Wale. They saw that the country was very calm and that eased Adam's mind. They found the Voun soldiers spread thickly, about a mile east of the Voun-Selve border and all seemed calm there. Selve was crawling with Selve soldiers, particularly at the borders of Voun, Emon, and Wale. They were rushing around like ants who had just had their nest squashed by a human foot. About a mile south of the Wale-Selve border, Special Forces soldiers were getting ready for the final push, and a mile south of the Emon-Selve border all of the Emon soldiers were ready to march. We were all ready to make our move and Adam sent messages to all of the generals, Lieutenant Ted Stars, and Bond Boyd, telling them that everyone looked to be in perfect position and to just hold tight.

We landed the ship and shut off the power, then Ed brought out the sandwiches and salads that Ann had made for them, and so they relaxed and had a nice dinner.

Ed got together a number of interesting pieces of equipment: a small toilet plunger; a glass cutter; and a pocket knife, and then declared that he was ready. Everyone laughed at the plunger, but Ed said, "just wait and see."

Finally, it was 2:30 a.m., and the long wait was over. The four friends all got down on their knees and Tom prayed, "Dear Heavenly Father, go with us and lead us with your spirit in our heart of hearts. Thank you, Amen."

The four men climbed out of the ship and locked the hatch. Then holding hands and pushing the invisibility button, Tom and Ed, Adam and Wills, thought-traveled to the backyard of Gog's Palace.

At the Palace of Gog, the four men, dressed in black, with black knit headgear, approached the rear of the Palace. They stood still and listened to the night. There was no sound, except for insect music.

Ed snuck up to the door he had spied earlier. He set the bag he was carrying on the ground and pulled out the plunger. First, wetting its rim, next he pressed the plunger against the piece of glass that was next to the door lock, and it stuck tightly. Pushing the plunger securely to the window, he took out the glass cutter and cut the glass in a circle larger than the rim of the plunger, leaving a 1/4 inch piece of the glass uncut. He next took out his pocket knife, and still holding the plunger, hit the 1/4 inch piece of glass sharply and then pulled the plunger backward and the circle of glass came flying out of the window, still stuck to the plunger. Ed then put all the tools and the circle of glass back into his bag and quietly ditched the bag in some shrubbery nearby.

When Ed was done, he joined the other three men, and Tom reached in and unlocked the door.

Stealthily, they crept through the bottom floor but met only two sleeping guards. In a split second, Wills and Adam slit the throats of those guards.

There was no guard at the foot of the stairs so they stole up the stairs to the second floor, but no one was around there either, and they knew that Gog would insist on guards at his bedroom door, so they snuck very carefully up the second set of stairs and peeked over the top step. There they could see Gog's bedroom door with two sleeping guards sitting outside.

Wills crept along the side of the hallway on his hands and knees and shot both guards using a small .22 with a silencer. The other three men followed Wills down the hall. When all four were outside Gog's bedroom door, Adam spoke softly, "I call this. He wanted to destroy my people, so I will destroy him." The other three men agreed readily.

Tomorrow, a big surprise, who killed Gog?
